Coffee addicts ? Are we drinking too much?

By Clara Maasz  The first thing many of us do in the morning is reach for a cup of coffee. Coffee fuels our day, gives us the energy to push through the day-to-day grind, and brings us moments of joy as we take the first delicious sip. Although it has become the norm to consume coffee throughout the day, have we become coffee addicts? Perhaps some of us drink too much? Perhaps we need to reign it in and get a hold on our coffee consumption? Perhaps not. I recon that I drink anywhere between 3 and 5 cups of coffee every day, I love the taste of coffee and it brings me a sense of comfort. If anyone asked me, I wouldn't call myself an addict, I can go without if I need to and if I don't manage a morning cup I wont loose my head over it; however, I would count myself as verging dangerously into the danger zone.  In terms of other people's coffee consuming habits, on average Americans drink 3-5 cups of coffee per day, and in the UK this lessens to an average of 2 cups per day wi

Paisley coffee shops - where to go?

By Clara Maasz

Paisley town centre has many options when it comes to cafes, there are many to choose from, all with different styles and food offerings, depending on what vibe your looking for. A couple have become my go-to coffee spots, one I visit with fiends, and one I opt to go to with family; my preference for one over the other can also depend on what I am in the mood for. If you are interested in discovering some great Paisley coffee spots then keep reading!

ROASTERS

Roasters is a small independent coffee shop situated at 69 High Street, it offers a modern Insta worthy vibe with neon signs, loud music, American style food and great barista made coffee. Roasters is my go to coffee/ lunch spot to visit with friends, partly because of its energy and great food but also due to its proximity to my University, making this a great after class treat. Coffee wise I can´t complain, its well made, the delivery in cute coffee mugs adds that little extra touch, and the latte art has been great every time (always a plus for picture taking!). Food wise I have only tried three of the items on the menu due to their brunch item ´the roasters stack` being a firm favourite of mine, it has been hard to stray from it on my regular visits - it consists of sourdough topped with hash brown, shredded ham, avocado, pesto eggs and it is all topped with hot honey.

This is a great spot for anyone looking for a vibrant, cool, buzzy place to catch up, meet friends, or go on a lunch/ brunch date, and they recently brought out a new menu which is another reason to head to this spot for a bite to eat! The place is almost always busy so waiting outside the small shop front might be necessary (this is when you hope its not cold) and if you do manage to get a seat I can assure you that it will be well worth the wait.

BIANCO NERO

Bianco Nero is my most visited cafe in Paisley, I have been going to this coffee spot since it change from Saporitos to Bianco Nero a good few years ago. This spot is a much loved cafe by locals as it is bright, airy, and you can almost always guarantee a seat with its two rooms and array of comfortable tables; this cafe is a go to if you are taking Gran out for lunch. Don´t let the fact I think itś a good spot to take Grandma deter you from paying this spot a visit, the cafe does some great coffee, fantastic loaded paninis, and a cabinet full of gorgeous cakes and sweet treats. Bianco Nero offers a great attmosphere and has an ambiance that makes the hours pass easily, it provides a comfortable setting in which to spend a good few hours chatting and catching up on the ins and outs of life.

This cafe is a personal favourite, if you are looking for great coffee, friendly service and amazing cafe food then give Bianco Nero a visit and I am sure you wont be disappointed.
